The 2017 team had a terrific season as they went 17-3-1, winning a first ever PAISAA Championship and coming in 2nd in the Inter-Ac. Emily McNesby (now at UMaryland) was named the Inter-Ac player of the year and SEPA player of the year and Coach Kosmin was named SEPA coach of the year.
The SCH girls’ soccer program works to develop players both physically and mentally, while fostering the importance of teamwork. It is essential for each player to develop these elements, as SCH plays against strong competition each year in the Inter-Ac League and also faces tough out-of-league competitors.
The coaching staff stresses the importance of all players being physically fit in order to handle the rigors of the game. At the same time, a strong understanding of the mental aspects of the game is emphasized in order to create a well-rounded soccer player. In combination with these two key elements, teamwork is accentuated from the first day of the season until the last.
Overall, the main goal of SCH girls’ soccer is to create better skilled, smarter players who know the meaning of team.
