Artists in Residence / Endowed Funds
Established by the Springside School Class of 1957 in honor of their 50th reunion, the Artist in Residence Fund supports visits to the school by performing and visual artists. While here, the artists interact with students, sharing their insights about art and the artistic process and working on a collaborative project with the girls.
Neal Ambrose-Smith
A contemporary Native American painter, sculptor, printmaker, and educator, Ambrose-Smith received his B.A. from the University of Northern Colorado and his M.F.A. from the University of New Mexico. His work is included in the collections of many national and international museums and institutions, including the New York Public Library and the Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian. During his visit, Ambrose-Smith worked with Upper and Middle School students to create more than 300 prints for an installation.

A traveling performing arts group representing Empower African Children, the Spirit of Uganda visited with Middle School girls and held two large-school assemblies.

Mary Eife
Jewelry designer and artist Mary Eife met with Lower and Middle School girls to demonstrate the use of the laser cutter and 3D printer in creating wearable felt jewelry.
Princeton Laptop Orchestra
The orchestra worked with students to help them create laptop instruments and expand their idea of using computers to create, program, and perform music.
