  • Athletes of the Week Ending 2/14

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending February 14:

Finley Paul '28 - Basketball - Fin epitomized the definition of staying ready all season long for our team. In our PAISAA playoff matchup against GFS, she subbed in with 4 minutes left in the game when we were down 39-36. In one of our first offensive possessions, she hit a huge corner 3, tying the game at 39 and allowing us to win. While we ultimately came up just short, Fin’s ability to stay ready and position herself perfectly kept us in it. Whether she is on the bench or on the court, Fin is locked in and constantly encouraging her teammates. Her effort, work ethic, and joyful personality are something we are grateful for, and we look forward to seeing Fin continue to develop as we look ahead to next season.

Owen Kelly '26 - Basketball - Owen Kelly capped off his illustrious Blue Devil career in dominant fashion, averaging 21.6 points and 8 rebounds per game over his final five contests. A four-year varsity standout, Kelly solidified his place among the best players in school history. He finished his career with 1,364 points and helped lead the program to a 75–41 record during his time on varsity. A two-time First Team All-InterAc selection as a junior and senior, Kelly’s impact on the court was matched only by his consistency and leadership. He will continue his basketball journey at the Division I level, having committed to Lafayette College. Congratulations, Owen!

Shane Keefe '27 - Wrestling - Shane placed 7th in the 144 weight class after being seeded at the 10 spot at last weekend’s PAIS wrestling tournament, just missing qualification for Prep Nationals. He went 3-3 and had an impressive run in a very competitive category. Shane’s progress and hard work this season have not gone unnoticed, and we look forward to him having a great senior season next year! Proud of you, Shane!

Madison Nathaniel '28 - Indoor Track & Field - Madison changed her technique this season from glide to rotation, throwing shot put. This is a significant change and usually takes an athlete a few seasons to master the movements and compete really well. In her first season making this change, Madison qualified for Meet of Champions as a sophomore, which is even more impressive! At the championship meet, she threw 30'-3.5", and she was 5th against 9th and 10th graders. Congratulations on a great season, Madison!

Khai Hendricks '31 - Wrestling - Khai has shown great promise on the wrestling team this year, as evidenced by his 3rd-place finish at the InterAc tournament. He has a tremendous work ethic, great sportsmanship, and we look forward to more success in the future! Great job Khai!

Audrey Lane '31 - Basketball - Audrey has exceeded our expectations on the court this season. Her effort and dedication to working on her skills were on display in practices and games, and she showed great improvement with every passing day. We are so proud of you and know you have a bright future ahead, Audrey!

Carson Case '31 - Basketball - Carson has the heart of a lion and the intense determination the JV A team needed this year! He understood that his movement off the ball was just as important as handling the ball, and he did an excellent job at both. Carson scored numerous times in the lane with all of the bigs around him, and never gave up! Great work, Carson!

Vivian Guzinski '32 - Basketball - Vivian has been a great teammate, and she is a fearless competitor. The vast amount of improvement she has shown from the beginning of the season has been amazing, and her shooting and defense progressed exponentially. Great work this year, Vivian!
  • Athletes of the Week Ending 2/7

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending February 7:

Kaitlyn Wright '30 - Squash - Kaitlyn had a dominant week for the Blue Devils with two 3-0 shutouts vs. Mercersburg and Conestoga and an additional 3-0 win vs Lawrenceville this Wednesday at the #3 spot. In fact, she has had a very impressive season overall with the US varsity squad; Kaitlyn has not dropped a single game! Amazing work, Kaitlyn, we are so excited for you and the future of SCH squash!

Nick Simon '26 - Basketball - Nick has poured himself into making SCH boys basketball the best program it can be over the past 4 years. Whether he’s keeping stats, stepping onto the practice floor, or helping our coaches manage countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities, Nick is always there, every single day. This past Friday, he suited up for his first varsity game, a moment years in the making. On the opening possession, we ran one of our signature sets to free him up beyond the arc. Nick caught it in rhythm and buried the three, sending the Kingsley Krazies into a frenzy. Nick embodies what it means to be a Blue Devil: selfless, committed, and unwavering in his support of his brothers. We are incredibly grateful for the impact he’s made on this program, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him!

Kit Thomson '28 - Basketball - Kit has been making big strides in her development as a basketball player. When the lights were brightest on our Suits and Sneakers Night against Hill last Friday, Kit helped seal a 62-54 win with several key rebounds late in the game, in addition to tallying 2 major defensive steals for our team. She embodies one of our core values, embracing your role, and this helped bring us to victory. We are grateful to have Kit as a part of our unit, and I’m sure she has great things ahead of her.

Regen Lytle '27 - Squash - Regen had a dominant performance against a higher-rated player from St. Andrew’s recently, winning in straight sets. He is showing great form even further up the line-up than he has been playing regularly. We are very impressed with his improvement this year and look forward to seeing his future progress!

Teigen Bayles '31 - Basketball - Teigen has shown excellent drive and determination in practices and games, and her skills have made her play a vital role on the varsity team. Her improvement in passing and shooting throughout the season has put her in a great position for success, and we appreciate her work ethic! Awesome job, Teigen!

Mason McFadden '31 - Basketball - Mason was an offensive disruptor on defense last week, totaling 10 steals! He scores the ball efficiently, makes amazing passes to his teammates, and helped the team achieve really great wins this season. Keep up the hard work, Mason. We can’t wait to see what you do next!

Henry Clement '31 - Wrestling - Henry has had a great season for the Devils, showing continuous improvement. He has worked very hard, and this has translated to the mat. Henry recently went 4-0 at Friends Central, winning some tough-fought matches. Proud of you, Henry!

Nicholas Chapman ‘32 - Basketball - Whether it is in practice or a game, Nicholas plays each possession like it is his last. His defensive tenacity helped fuel our big win over Delaware County Christian School, in which he contributed with 8 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Most importantly, his energy always provides some fuel for our tough team that plays each and every day for each other. Congrats, Nicholas, and always remember, the best way to predict your future is to create it...keep being you!

Sloane Smith '32 - Basketball - Sloane has been a great teammate, tough player, and she has shown tons of improvement since the beginning of the season for the MSG JV. She has stepped up in a major way with her scoring and defense, and we appreciate her excellent work! Way to go, Sloane!
  • Athletes of the Week Ending 1/31

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Jan 31:

Jimmy Snyder '30 - Ice Hockey - Jimmy, an 8th-grade defenseman, has been a tremendous addition to the team this season. His hockey sense, composure, and maturity stand out every time he steps on the ice, and he has quickly established himself as one of the top young players to watch in the IHL. Jimmy consistently logs heavy minutes on the back end and has played a key role in stabilizing our defensive unit. Despite being one of the youngest players in the program, he has earned a top-four defenseman role and is trusted in all situations, including both the power play and penalty kill. He plays with confidence, makes smart first passes, and competes hard in all three zones. We are extremely excited to watch Jimmy’s game continue to develop over the next four years as an important part of the SCH Hockey program.

Gemma Cooper '29 - Squash - Gemma has shown continued improvements throughout the season. She has solidified herself as the team's number 5 and has put together some great squash against tricky opponents. We look forward to Gemma’s future progress as a player and leader in the varsity program!

Reece Corvasce '26 - Squash - Reece has shown a tremendous amount of effort on the JV squad this season, and she always comes to practice and matches with a positive attitude. She is an excellent role model for her teammates, and we will miss her leadership next year! We wish you all the best in the future, Reece!

Donovan Ajunwa '28 - Basketball - Donovan’s experience at the varsity level makes him a prime leader for the JV squad. Game in and game out, he leads the team on both ends of the floor and is greatly responsible for the team's 15-4 record. On Tuesday, his defense led the way with consecutive steals early in the second half to salt away a 20 point SCH win against PC. Keep working, Donovan!

Sean Tiffany '29 - Squash - Sean put in an amazing effort against a strong team in his squash debut for the Blue Devils. He is growing in skill and confidence every week, and he has been an amazing addition to the team. We look forward to Sean’s growth and future with the program!

Maeve McManus '31 - Squash - Maeve delivered a standout performance at MS Nationals, playing all three of her matches with confidence, intensity, and focus. After a tough second game in her opening match, she locked in and came back even stronger, setting the tone for the rest of the day. She carried that momentum into matches two and three, earning decisive 3–0 wins while staying composed and competitive throughout. It was a resilient, high-level performance that was huge for our team!

Frank Bradfield '31 - Wrestling - Frank had a very successful meet at EA last week, wrestling with great composure as he pulled off a come-from-behind match against his opponent. He has improved every meet this year and is always working to get better. Keep it up, Frank!

Campbell Goodwin '30 - Squash - Campbell delivered massive wins for us at MS Nationals, capping his run with two intense five-game thrillers that could have gone either way. In physically demanding matches, he battled through frustration, locked in his focus, and rose to the moment, grinding it out and finishing strong when it mattered most. It was a clutch performance for the varsity team!

Oliver Rabe '30 - Basketball - Oliver had an outstanding week of basketball for the MSB varsity team in the big 56-20 win against Penn Charter. He competes at a very high level during every game, and his effort and hard work in practice do not go unnoticed. Way to go, Oliver!

Braidyn Watson '32 - Basketball - Braidyn consistently has outstanding defensive play, which turns into many transitional points. He has exceeded the coach's expectations and has worked his way into a starting position on the JV A team. Excellent effort, Braidyn!

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending January 24:

Nolan Delaney ‘27 - Wrestling - Nolan has been the team’s anchor and leader all year, claiming two tournament titles and top 8 finishes at every tournament we have competed in. Against PC, Nolan bumped up to heavyweight from his typical weight class of 215 lbs and won by fall. He followed that victory up with 4 wins the next day at the Wildcat Invitational claiming a 2nd place finish. Nolan quietly sits at 25-5 on the year as he looks to qualify for his second trip to the National Prep Tournament. He has now put together back to back 24 plus win seasons. Keep pushing Nol!

Kelley Boyle ‘26 - Indoor Track - Senior Kelley Boyle has done an outstanding job keeping himself in shape despite the cold and snowy winter conditions. On Friday 1/23 at Lehigh University, Kelley was ready to compete and nearly matched his personal record in the 400m long-sprint event with a time of 56.90! He placed 26th overall and represented our team well. Great job Kelley, we appreciate your competitive spirit and effort!

Charlie Cobb ‘29 - Squash - Charlie is putting in the extra work and seeing good improvements in his court knowledge and skills. He has slowly worked his way up from #12 on the varsity roster to the 8 spot and is still climbing. His effort and dedication to getting better every day has not gone unnoticed, and he has a bright future ahead. We are proud of you, Charlie!

Jack Frank ‘30 - Squash - Jack showed outstanding resilience in his match against Shipley last week. After dropping the first game, he locked in, trusted the game plan, and made a key tactical adjustment. With nonstop effort and intensity, Jack battled point by point and powered through to an impressive four-game victory. Way to go, Jack!

Grace Talbot ‘30 - Squash - Grace brought relentless grit and heart in back-to-back matches last week. She fought through every point in a tough five-game battle against Shipley, refusing to back down until the very end. Carrying that same fire into her match against LMSD the next day, Grace elevated her play and delivered a huge win for herself and the team. Keep up the hard work, Grace!

Taylor Griggs '30 - Basketball - Taylor has been an excellent member of the MSG varsity with her skills and knowledge of basketball, and she plays a vital role on this team. She has been able to pass along her knowledge to her teammates and is always finding ways to help them out and putting them in the best position possible. Great work Taylor!

Clara Burns '32 - Basketball - Clara has been a great teammate for the MSG JV and has vastly improved her skills throughout the season. She is always looking for ways to get better and has been putting in tremendous amounts of work in practices and games. Looking forward to continuing to see her working hard. Keep it up Clara!
  • Athletes of the Week Ending 1/17

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Jan 17:

Joe Flach ‘26 - Basketball - It hasn’t been the easiest season for senior guard Joe Flach. In just the second practice of the year, Joe suffered a significant ankle sprain that sidelined him until late December. During that stretch, he never wavered, embracing a leadership role and consistently finding ways to support, guide, and encourage his teammates from the bench. Since returning, Joe has been asked to fill a variety of roles, and he’s done so with toughness and versatility. He’s a gritty defender, a strong rebounder, a skilled passer, and has a knack for knocking down timely corner threes when the team needs them most. Last week, Joe was inserted into the starting lineup to fill the void left by an injured player. In his first career start, Flach made key plays on both ends of the floor, helping the Blue Devils snap a four-game skid with a big win over Episcopal. We know we can count on Joe to help lead us through the rest of the season and always give 100%!

Alex Luce ‘27 - Ice Hockey - Alex delivered an outstanding week in net for the Blue Devils. On Wednesday at Hill, he turned aside 31 of 32 shots, backstopping the team to a convincing 5-1 victory. He followed that up on Friday with a great performance against Lawrenceville with 34 saves on 37 shots in a hard-fought 3-2 defeat. Now 2-1-1 on the season, Alex’s confident and poised presence in goal consistently settles the team. His composure gives his teammates the confidence to play aggressively and trust the structure in front of them whenever he’s in the net for the Blue Devils. Way to go, Alex!

Colin Golden ‘29 - Basketball - Colin has been a standout player for the Blue Devils 3rd team in recent games, contributing on both ends of the floor. He brings a strong blend of size, shooting, and physicality that allows him to create match-up difficulties for our opponents. The team has won back-to-back games heading into a triple header matchup at Malvern tomorrow! Go get ‘em, Colin!

Jack Mellor ‘30 - Basketball - Jack had 5 crucial points last week during the second half vs GA and also tallied 3 steals and multiple big time rebounds in a 51-31 win for the Devils. His hard-nosed play and aggressive defense make him a formidable opponent, and we appreciate the hard work he puts into practice every day to improve. Jack’s leadership has been excellent, and we are excited to see what the future holds for him!

Clara Dews ‘32 - Squash - Clara delivered an outstanding performance against a tough Agnes Irwin JV squad last week, earning the team’s only win of the match. She played with focus, confidence, and determination from start to finish, and we know she will continue to put in the work and effort needed for future success! Great job, Clara!

Grant Ramer ‘32 - Basketball - Whether it is scoring points, defending, distributing the ball, or rebounding, Grant consistently plays with great energy and resilience. He is a constant source of hustle and tenacity that has helped the JV B team both on and off the court. We appreciate his determination to strive for improvement daily, and we look forward to having Grant help lead us in the second round of Inter-Ac play.  As the great Babe Ruth once said, “It is hard to beat a person who never gives up”.  Keep up the awesome work, Grant!
