In one of our first offensive possessions, she hit a huge corner 3, tying the game at 39 and allowing us to win. While we ultimately came up just short, Fin’s ability to stay ready and position herself perfectly kept us in it. A four-year varsity standout, Kelly solidified his place among the best players in school history. He finished his career with 1,364 points and helped lead the program to a 75–41 record during his time on varsity. A two-time First Team All-InterAc selection as a junior and senior, Kelly’s impact on the court was matched only by his consistency and leadership. He will continue his basketball journey at the Division I level, having committed to Lafayette College. Congratulations, Owen!

Shane Keefe '27 - Wrestling - Shane placed 7th in the 144 weight class after being seeded at the 10 spot at last weekend’s PAIS wrestling tournament, just missing qualification for Prep Nationals. Madison Nathaniel '28 - Indoor Track & Field - Madison changed her technique this season from glide to rotation, throwing shot put. This is a significant change and usually takes an athlete a few seasons to master the movements and compete really well. In her first season making this change, Madison qualified for Meet of Champions as a sophomore, which is even more impressive! At the championship meet, she threw 30'-3.5", and she was 5th against 9th and 10th graders. Congratulations on a great season, Madison!

Khai Hendricks '31 - Wrestling - Khai has shown great promise on the wrestling team this year, as evidenced by his 3rd-place finish at the InterAc tournament. He has a tremendous work ethic, great sportsmanship, and we look forward to more success in the future! Great job Khai!

Whether he’s keeping stats, stepping onto the practice floor, or helping our coaches manage countless behind-the-scenes responsibilities, Nick is always there, every single day. This past Friday, he suited up for his first varsity game, a moment years in the making. On the opening possession, we ran one of our signature sets to free him up beyond the arc. Nick caught it in rhythm and buried the three, sending the Kingsley Krazies into a frenzy. Nick embodies what it means to be a Blue Devil: selfless, committed, and unwavering in his support of his brothers. We are incredibly grateful for the impact he’s made on this program, and we can’t wait to see what’s next for him!

His defensive tenacity helped fuel our big win over Delaware County Christian School, in which he contributed with 8 points, 4 steals, and 3 rebounds. Most importantly, his energy always provides some fuel for our tough team that plays each and every day for each other. Congrats, Nicholas, and always remember, the best way to predict your future is to create it...keep being you!

His hockey sense, composure, and maturity stand out every time he steps on the ice, and he has quickly established himself as one of the top young players to watch in the IHL. Jimmy consistently logs heavy minutes on the back end and has played a key role in stabilizing our defensive unit. Despite being one of the youngest players in the program, he has earned a top-four defenseman role and is trusted in all situations, including both the power play and penalty kill. He plays with confidence, makes smart first passes, and competes hard in all three zones. We are extremely excited to watch Jimmy’s game continue to develop over the next four years as an important part of the SCH Hockey program.

It was a resilient, high-level performance that was huge for our team!

It was a clutch performance for the varsity team!

Against PC, Nolan bumped up to heavyweight from his typical weight class of 215 lbs and won by fall. He followed that victory up with 4 wins the next day at the Wildcat Invitational claiming a 2nd place finish. He placed 26th overall and represented our team well. Great job Kelley, we appreciate your competitive spirit and effort!

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Jan 17:

Joe Flach ‘26 - Basketball - It hasn’t been the easiest season for senior guard Joe Flach. In just the second practice of the year, Joe suffered a significant ankle sprain that sidelined him until late December. During that stretch, he never wavered, embracing a leadership role and consistently finding ways to support, guide, and encourage his teammates from the bench. Since returning, Joe has been asked to fill a variety of roles, and he’s done so with toughness and versatility. He’s a gritty defender, a strong rebounder, a skilled passer, and has a knack for knocking down timely corner threes when the team needs them most. Last week, Joe was inserted into the starting lineup to fill the void left by an injured player. In his first career start, Flach made key plays on both ends of the floor, helping the Blue Devils snap a four-game skid with a big win over Episcopal. We know we can count on Joe to help lead us through the rest of the season and always give 100%!

Alex Luce ‘27 - Ice Hockey - Alex delivered an outstanding week in net for the Blue Devils. On Wednesday at Hill, he turned aside 31 of 32 shots, backstopping the team to a convincing 5-1 victory. He followed that up on Friday with a great performance against Lawrenceville with 34 saves on 37 shots in a hard-fought 3-2 defeat. Now 2-1-1 on the season, Alex’s confident and poised presence in goal consistently settles the team. His composure gives his teammates the confidence to play aggressively and trust the structure in front of them whenever he’s in the net for the Blue Devils. Way to go, Alex!

Colin Golden ‘29 - Basketball - Colin has been a standout player for the Blue Devils 3rd team in recent games, contributing on both ends of the floor. He brings a strong blend of size, shooting, and physicality that allows him to create match-up difficulties for our opponents. The team has won back-to-back games heading into a triple header matchup at Malvern tomorrow! Go get ‘em, Colin!

Jack Mellor ‘30 - Basketball - Jack had 5 crucial points last week during the second half vs GA and also tallied 3 steals and multiple big time rebounds in a 51-31 win for the Devils. His hard-nosed play and aggressive defense make him a formidable opponent, and we appreciate the hard work he puts into practice every day to improve. Jack’s leadership has been excellent, and we are excited to see what the future holds for him!

Clara Dews ‘32 - Squash - Clara delivered an outstanding performance against a tough Agnes Irwin JV squad last week, earning the team’s only win of the match. She played with focus, confidence, and determination from start to finish, and we know she will continue to put in the work and effort needed for future success! Great job, Clara!

Grant Ramer ‘32 - Basketball - Whether it is scoring points, defending, distributing the ball, or rebounding, Grant consistently plays with great energy and resilience. He is a constant source of hustle and tenacity that has helped the JV B team both on and off the court. We appreciate his determination to strive for improvement daily, and we look forward to having Grant help lead us in the second round of Inter-Ac play.  As the great Babe Ruth once said, “It is hard to beat a person who never gives up”.  Keep up the awesome work, Grant!

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Jan 10:

Flo Ajunwa '26 - Basketball - This season, Flo has led our team in multiple ways. On the court, her ability to pass and find her teammates, rebound at an elite level, and reliably score for our team night in and night out is the consistency that helps our group succeed. In a tough game against GA that featured multiple D1 commits, Flo stepped up big time and led the team with 17 points. Off the court, I have seen her take our younger players off to the side and offer guidance to the girls who will step into her shoes in the future. We are so grateful for Flo and all she does, and we can’t wait to see how that helps her as she continues into the next phase of her journey in life!

Asa Zimmerman '27 - Ice Hockey - Asa is an assistant captain and the heartbeat of the Blue Devils’ hockey team. He sets the tone at practice by being first into drills, helping teammates stay locked in, and bringing a physical presence on each and every shift. Asa anchors a young defensive core and is trusted in all situations, including top-line minutes, power plays, and penalty kills. This past week, he helped shut down EA in a 3-3 tie and added two assists against ANC, making a big impact from the blue line. Asa is arguably one of the best defenders in the IHL and is highly valuable to the continual growth of our hockey program. Amazing work, Asa!

Tristan Ferraro '26 - Wrestling - Tristan has been a steadfast leader for the Devils in his senior year. He has been selfless in his efforts to benefit the team, wrestling in multiple weight classes this season. He never complains and just gets the job done with a workman’s attitude. Last Friday in our Inter-AC opener against EA, the team was trailing 34-18, and we desperately needed a win from Tristan. In the early goings, the match was not heading in Tristan's favor. He was down 6-2 heading into the final period, and Tristan's determination went on full display for the entire gym. As a result, he was able to get two takedowns in the final minute en route to an exciting 8-7 comeback win. Tristan followed up that gritty win with a 3-0 performance the following day at the CFS invitational. We are so proud of you, Tristan!

Logan Conix '30 - Basketball - Logan has shown to be a great contributor on the MSG varsity and is always willing to help her teammates, putting them in the best possible position to succeed. She works hard in both games and practices, and her rebounding and passing have been very effective as a result. Keep up the good work, Logan!

Karina Egen '30 - Squash - Karina showcased an outstanding performance in a challenging match against GFS for the MSG varsity. She competed with high intensity, remained extremely coachable, and demonstrated impressive resilience. Despite an early setback, Karina battled back to win the final three games, finishing the match strong. Her performance exemplified perseverance and a true competitive spirit. Way to go, Karina!

Alexander Dequesne '31 - Squash - Alex demonstrated a strong performance against a hard-hitting opponent from PC for the MSB varsity squad. He consistently raised his effort level each game, competed with great focus, and played smart throughout the match. • Athletes of the Week Ending 1/3

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Jan 3:

Alex Ormond '26 - Basketball - Alex helped lead the Blue Devils to a 6-2 record over the last 3 weeks, averaging a solid 12 points and 5 rebounds per game. He continues to grow as a vocal leader, which has contributed to the Blue Devils’ rise to an overall 13-4 start heading into Inter-Ac competition. Keep working hard, Alex. We look forward to more of your success!

Mimi Gallagher '28 - Basketball - Mimi is a true team player and a hard worker who has become a key part of our success this season. Her ability to rebound, defend, and run the floor using her speed as a track athlete helps us win in multiple ways. When the lights were brightest, she stepped up against Abington High School in the BAA Holiday Tournament. Finishing with 14 points, her combination of scoring and elite defense propelled us to a 70-49 win and helped us secure the trophy and a 7-2 record heading into the holiday break. We are grateful to have a teammate like Mimi on our squad and are eager to see her continue to succeed this season.

Dayton Tinson '28 - Wrestling - A lingering injury from football season kept Dayton sidelined for the first half of the season, but in his first weekend back in action, he was on fire out of the gate! Wrestling in the JV bracket at the Wetzel Tourney, Dayton won his first two matches by major decision, outscoring both opponents 23-1. In the semifinals, he lost a close takedown match 4-1 to the eventual tournament champion. In the consolation semifinals, Dayton showed true grit, winning a 3-2 triple overtime thriller to advance to the 3rd place match, where he won by fall to take 3rd overall. Great Job, Dayton!

Chris Thelemaque '28 - Indoor Track - Chris knocked the early-season rust off on 12/13, placing 19th in the 60m hurdles with a time of 9.18 at Lehigh. The following week, he was ready and focused, placing 6th out of 65 competitors and posting a qualifying time for Meet of Champions (8.76), also earning a medal! In addition to being a great athlete, Chris is a leader with a great personality. He works hard during practice and on his own. The second half of his indoor track season will be exciting for sure. Great job Chris. We appreciate your effort and determination!

Jakai Badgett '28 - Jakai has been a key element of the JV boys’ basketball team’s successful 9-2 start. Coming off the bench, he is, without question, one of the Devils’ biggest defensive leaders. Jakai’s effort has made him a star in this defensive role, and this increases on a daily basis. Jakai’s quiet work ethic and assertiveness are amazing examples for his teammates.

Lela Rascoe '31 - Basketball - Lela has been a great contributor and has really stepped up to be a leader on the MSG varsity team. With her tremendous amount of skill and knowledge of basketball, she was able to lead her team with 14 points in a close game against Penn Charter. Keep up the great work, Lela!

Eddie Braswell '30 - Basketball - Eddie had an amazing game vs a big GFS squad for the MSB varsity before winter break, scoring 16 points. He also controlled the game on the defensive end with 4 steals, helping the Devils to a 69-23 win! Way to go, Eddie!

Jae Sessoms '32 - Basketball - Jae has been an excellent teammate and has good knowledge and skills that have led her to be a great leader on the JV team.
