Houston Society
Founded in 2015, The Houston Society recognizes Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s most generous benefactors who have made lifetime gifts totaling $250,000 or more, including annual gifts, gifts to endowments, capital projects, restricted gifts, and planned gifts.

 

Named in memory of Henry Howard Houston (1820-1895)—one of America’s greatest post-Civil War entrepreneurs—who, with four generations of family members, have been leaders in politics, diplomacy, suburban planning, land conservation, historic preservation, and philanthropy of which Springside School and Chestnut Hill Academy have been the beneficiaries for more than a century.

 

We are privileged to have alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends who qualify for this honor through their extraordinary philanthropy. Members of The Houston Society share the same vision and passion for greater SCH.

Founded in 2015, The Blue, Blue and Gold Society honors the loyal alumni, parents, faculty/staff, parents of alumni, and friends who support SCH consistently over time. This society is not about how much you give; it’s about the simple act of giving year after year to The SCH Fund. Consecutive years of giving are counted by fiscal year, which runs from July 1 through June 30.

 

All members will receive recognition in the annual report and name-tag recognition at many SCH events.

 

Membership requirements:

The Wissahickon Leadership Society recognizes individuals and organizations that make leadership contributions to The SCH Fund of $1,500 or more annually. Members of The Wissahickon Leadership Society are essential partners with SCH’s dedicated faculty, staff, and administration and share the passion and vision for providing a 21st century education to our students. 

 

Associate Members of the The Wissahickon Leadership Society – starting July 1, 2015 young alumni (within 15 years of graduation) with a gift between $250–$1,499 annually become associate members and receive all membership courtesies as noted below.

• Invitation to the fall thank-you event
• Invitations to special events on campus
• Recognition in the annual report
• Name-tag recognition at various events
• Special recognition at Reunion Weekend 

Founders – $100,000+

Entrepreneurs – $50,000–$99,999

Innovators – $25,000–$49,999

Leaders – $10,000–$24,999

Creators – $5,000–$9,999
Designers – $2,500–$4,999 

Breakthrough Thinkers – $1,500–$2,499

Explorers* – $250–$1,499 

*Exclusively for young alumni within 15 years of graduation or current SCH students.  

The SCH Heritage Society was created in 2011 and includes the 1861 Society (CHA) and 1879 Society (Springside). Members of these societies have made a planned gift to Springside School, Chestnut Hill Academy, or Springside Chestnut Hill Academy and have shared their plans with the school. A planned gift ensures that SCH will continue to be strong and financially secure into the future and can bring financial benefits not only to the school but also to you. Planned gifts enable you to provide for your family and allow you significant charitable deductions, generate lifelong income, convert low-yielding assets into a higher income stream, and reduce or eliminate capital gains and estate taxes.
