The boys’ golf program had their first individual Inter-Ac golf champion in 2013 when senior Jack Grasso shot a two over par at Merion East in the Inter-Ac Golf Championship.

 

The members of our golf program have the opportunity to be coached by Francis Vaughn, who is a firm believer in developing the fundamental skills necessary to be successful.

 

Coach Vaughn was the former head coach of University of Pennsylvania’s men’s golf team in 1996 and also served as the head women’s coach and director of golf through 2008. As the head coach of the Quakers’ men’s team, they finished seventh at the Ivy Championships in 1996, his first season, but improved to second in 1997 before taking the team title in 1998. Vaughn also led the men to second-place finishes in 2000 and 2001, and a third-place finish in 1999. He coached players to 13 All-Ivy recognitions, including three seasons when three different players earned All-Ivy by finishing in the Top Seven at the Ivy Championships (1997, 1998, 2001). With the women, Vaughn has coached four different players to All-Ivy honors; the Quakers’ best finish at the Ivy Championships came in 2005, when they finished third.
