    Head Coach: Joe Ishikawa

Springside Chestnut Hill Academy’s baseball program has a long-standing tradition of putting a competitive and well-schooled team on the field each spring. More recently, the SCH baseball program has become recognized as one of the most successful in the Philadelphia and tri-state area.

The team is part of the Inter-Academic League, the oldest schoolboy league in the country. This league is considered to be the most competitive in Southeastern Pennsylvania. The SCH team plays on Pearson Field, which is recognized as one of the premier fields in Philadelphia.

The coaching staff is well respected, experienced, and knowledgeable. Students are instructed in the fundamentals and concepts of the game.

During the last week of March, the team travels to Ft. Pierce, Florida for spring training. While in Florida, the team plays several games against schools from across the country and they also have the opportunity to get plenty of practices in.

Aside from gaining a complete understanding of baseball, team members gain a sense of teamwork, responsibility, and commitment. Expectations for players include quality academic performance, physical development, and being respectful of officials, their opponents, and most importantly of the game. Each year players from the SCH baseball program are accepted at quality colleges with successful programs. In addition to numerous players partaking at the collegiate level, SCH has had several players who have gone on to professional baseball careers.
