    Head Coach: Brian Dougherty

The boys’ lacrosse program at SCH Academy was started in 2005. Since that time, it has quickly developed into a highly competitive varsity program that competes in the Inter-Ac, which is arguably one of the top three lacrosse leagues in the country.

The Blue Devils are led by lacrosse icon Brian Dougherty who took over as head coach in 2018. “Doc” has an impressive lacrosse resume as he was a 2x All American at the University of Maryland, including 2x goalie of the year award winner and NCAA Tournament MVP.

After college, “Doc” won two International gold medals with Team USA and played professionally for 9 years with the Rochester Rattlers, Long island Lizards and Philadelphia Barrage again taking home goalie of the year honors three times. In the ultimate sign of respect, Dougherty was inducted into the US Lacrosse Hall of Fame in 2012.

Coach Dougherty has coached at the NCAA level at UPenn, Haverford College, and Chestnut Hill College.

Matt Rambo, the 2017 Tewaaraton and Enners Award winner is an assistant for the Blue Devils. Matt was a 2x 1st team All American and member of the 2017 NCAA champions University of Maryland Terrapins. Matt is the Terrapins all time points and goals leader. He currently plays professionally for the Charlotte Hounds and Philadelphia Wings.

Both coaches played their high school lacrosse in the Philadelphia area, Doc at Episcopal and Matt at LaSalle.

Former SCH players currently compete at UMaryland, Bryant, Jacksonville, Penn State, Lafayette, Mercer, URichmond, Ursinus, F & M, Gettysburg, Wagner, the Naval Academy, and Bucknell.
