The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending May 16:
Joey Markey '26 - Baseball - Joey, a Catholic University signee, had an incredible week at the plate, hitting .600 and powering the team to a first-round playoff win over Westtown with a dominant 3-for-3 performance that included two home runs. Throughout the season, Joey has been a consistent hard worker, respected leader, and outstanding role model for the program. His impact on and off the field will certainly be missed. Best of luck next year as a Cardinal, Joey!
Nadia Russell '27 - Track & Field - Nadia has been a dedicated and hardworking member of the track and field team all season in the shot put. She consistently pushed herself to improve her technique and performance while holding herself to a high standard at every practice. Beyond her own success, Nadia was always willing to support and assist her teammates whenever they needed help. Her strong work ethic, leadership, and positive attitude made her an invaluable teammate and an outstanding role model for the program.
Jude Hackford '27 - Crew - Jude has worked hard all season, showing steady improvement in the JV single races throughout the Manny Flick series. At last weekend’s Stotesbury Cup Regatta, he stepped up to compete in the senior 1x category against a field of experienced 12th-grade rowers. Jude embraced the challenge with confidence and determination, never backing down against tough competition. We are incredibly proud of the heart, grit, and drive Jude displayed all season long!
Charlotte Harris '28 and Taylor-Rae Hall-Callaway ‘27 - Crew - Charlotte and Taylor-Rae capped off an outstanding season by capturing the bronze medal in the lightweight double at last weekend’s Stotesbury Cup Regatta. Their success is a testament to the hard work, dedication, and determination they showed throughout the entire racing season. We are incredibly proud of the progress they made and the commitment they demonstrated in achieving their goals this year. Congratulations, Charlotte and Taylor-Rae, on an amazing accomplishment!
Will Adamson '30 - Tennis - Competing in the top spot on the tennis team means facing Philadelphia’s best players every single match, and there are no easy battles at the 1st singles position. Will embraced that challenge all season long, putting together an outstanding year with an impressive 10-5 overall record between 1st singles and 1st doubles. His dedication, competitiveness, and talent were on display every time he stepped on the court. With Upper School ahead, the future is incredibly bright for Will as he continues to develop and contribute to the tennis program. Congratulations on an awesome season, Will!
Emma Caton '28 - Softball - Emma has been a reliable presence at third base since joining the team in 8th grade, consistently providing strong defense and leadership on the field. In the crucial game that secured SCH a second place finish in the league, Emma delivered in a big moment with a two out, 2 RBI hit to the outfield that helped seal a 3-1 victory over GA. She continued her outstanding play later in the week, going a perfect 4 for 4 with 3 RBIs against GFS in the quarterfinals of the PAISAA tournament. Emma’s clutch performances and consistency have made her an invaluable part of the team’s success.
Dennis Windish '29 - Track & Field - Dennis approached every practice with an open mind and a strong willingness to try new drills and techniques to improve his shot put performance. He consistently stayed after practice to put in extra work and refine his technique, demonstrating tremendous dedication and commitment throughout the season. His coachability, determination, and strong work ethic helped him make significant progress, gaining an impressive six feet in the shot put over the course of the year. Keep up the great work, Dennis!
