Athletes of the Week Ending 5/9

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending May 9:

Sammi Acuna '26 - Golf - Senior golfer Sammi Acuna capped off an outstanding career for SCH with another pair of impressive performances to close out the season. Competing in her third Inter-Ac League Championship at Sandy Run Golf Club, Sammi fired a 48 to tie for ninth place. She followed that up with another top-10 finish at the PAISAA Tournament at Radley Run, shooting a 47 to place 8th overall and lead SCH on the day. Sammi’s consistency, leadership, and dedication have been invaluable to the program, and she will certainly be missed next season. Congratulations, Sammi, and best of luck at Northeastern University next year!

Frankie Decembrino '26 - Baseball - Frankie had an outstanding week for the Blue Devils, batting .625 with an impressive .769 on-base percentage over the team’s three games. Hitting out of the leadoff spot, he sparked the offense with 1 RBI, 4 runs scored, and 5 walks while consistently setting the tone at the top of the lineup. A five-year mainstay on the Devils varsity squad, Frankie’s leadership, experience, and steady presence have been invaluable to the program and will certainly be missed. Best of luck at DeSales University and with the Bulldogs next year!

Cade Stone '27 - Tennis - Playing for the first time in the No. 1 singles position, Cade delivered a strong performance with a solid win over Malvern, helping the team earn its first Inter-Ac victory of the season. Cade has been playing excellent tennis throughout the year and continues to develop his game with each match as he looks to finish the season on a high note. Congratulations, Cade, and keep up the great work!

Henry Bertelsen '26 - Lacrosse - Henry, a Johns Hopkins University signee, posted an impressive 65% win percentage at the face-off spot last week across three games against two ranked opponents. He also added a goal to cap off his successful week in the senior game against Hun. Henry has been a tremendous and integral part of the team all season and will certainly be missed. Best of luck playing for the Blue Jays next year!

Simi Magbogunje '28 - Lacrosse - Simi’s positive energy, athleticism, incredible attitude, and strong work ethic while learning a new sport and taking on the challenging goalie position have been amazing to watch this season. She has been a fantastic addition to the team, and we look forward to seeing her continue to grow and improve in the years ahead. Way to go, Simi!

Freddie Windmill '32 - Baseball - Freddie has had a great season for the MSB JV team, finishing up with a home run and closing out a tight 9-8 victory last week vs EA! Way to go, Freddie!  

Laurel Astheimer '32 - Lacrosse - Laurel has been a consistent defensive leader all season for MSG JV Lax. She marks her opponents diligently and is always eager to give it her all! Keep up the great work, Laurel!
