Athletes of the Week Ending 9/6

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending September 6:

JR Maher '26 - Soccer - Through a rough start for the Hillers so far this season, JR, a senior captain, has been the quintessential leader for our group with his never-ending work ethic. He led our back line through two tough games last week, yet never lost his cool, staying positive and looking to build up his teammates. JR's control and composure will be invaluable to our team as we climb toward league play in a couple of weeks.

Neeve Doherty '26 - Field Hockey - Neeve scored the team’s first goal of the season in their 2-0 victory over ANC in their home opener! As a senior captain, she is a great role model for the younger players, always giving her all on the attacking line and diving for balls. Neeve leads by example and continues to impress the coaches with her strong work ethic.

Lewa White '26 - Soccer - Lewa, a senior who is new to SCH this year, had 2 goals and 1 assist in the first three games of the season. Both goals were very well struck and made from outside the box. Lewa has been named a captain because she always leads by example, pushing the team’s pace and energy every time she is on the field. We can’t wait to see what she does next this season!

Will Howard '28 - Football - In the Devils’ first 2 games, sophomore Will Howard is really making a name for himself. He has a combined 32 carries for 295 yards and 5 touchdowns! His whopping 9.2 yards per carry is a product of both his speed and strength. Will has quickly become a key ingredient on offense and is primed for a huge season.

Bella Tinneny '28 - Cross Country - Bella had a personal course record at last Saturday’s Abington invitational, medaling with a 21st out of 81 runners with a time of 22:18! She followed that up with a 3rd place finish against Notre Dame at Belmont Plateau this week, showing her prowess on the notoriously difficult course! We are looking forward to more of her successes this season!

Vera Wieman '29 - Field Hockey - In her first few field hockey games EVER, Vera scored twice for the JV squad! We are super proud of her as she shows the school’s pillar of resilience in practice every day, always eager to learn new skills and implement them. Great work, Vera!
