Athletes of the Week Ending 4/11

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending April 11:

Girls’ Sprint Medley Relay - Track and Field - Congratulations to the Girls’ Sprint Medley team on breaking the Bensalem Invitational meet record and setting a new SCH school record! Mimi Gallagher ‘28 led off, followed by strong legs from Bella Tinneny '28 and Marlee Howard '26 to keep the team in position. Anchor Nadia Bevan ‘28 surged ahead in the final stretch, taking the lead with 120m remaining to secure the win. So proud of these girls and their historic victory for the Devils!

Stokes Tate '26 - Baseball - Stokes, a senior and St. Lawrence University commit, delivered a dominant performance in our home Inter-Ac opener against Penn Charter. He threw a complete game, allowing just one unearned run while striking out 12 to secure the team’s first league win. His leadership and energy on the mound are integral to the Devils’ success this season. Keep up the excellent work, Stokes!

Maris Herghelegiu '27 - Lacrosse - Maris has been willing to take on any role for our team since the start of the season. She stepped up to guard the #1 recruit in the 2027 class, holding her without a goal in the first half of our game against Notre Dame. Maris consistently brings a high level of effort, working relentlessly in both games and practices. In our matchup against Shipley, she contributed 3 goals, 1 assist, and 1 caused turnover, demonstrating her ability to make an impact on both ends of the field. Great work, Maris!

Roman McNichols '26 & Ethan Quinn '26 - Crew - Roman and Ethan are off to a great start, competing in the varsity double for the Blue Devils this year. They finished 3rd in their heat in the first two Manny Flicks, and 2nd in their heat in last week’s race. Their leadership and effort have not gone unnoticed, and we are eager to see their continued progression and success as we enter medal season!

Wyatt Friedland '29 & Bernie Caplan '29 - Tennis - This doubles pairing has really gelled as the season has progressed and went a perfect 3-0 last week at 3rd doubles, beating St. Joes Prep, Central, and Germantown Academy, while only dropping 1 set in those 3 matches. Their energy and dedication have been a welcome addition to the team this year, and the future is bright for these two. Congratulations boys!

Natali McCune '30 - Softball - In the varsity squad’s season opener against PC, Natali went a perfect 2 for 2 at the plate, blasting a huge 3-run home run that cleared into the trees beyond right field at Fish Field. She also crossed the plate twice, leading the team to a dominant 17–8 victory. Keep up the amazing playing, Natali!

Connor Dougherty '30 - Lacrosse - This past week, Connor delivered an outstanding performance in goal against Haverford, recording 11 saves while facing a strong attack and helping our team compete at a high level throughout the game. What sets Connor apart is his maturity and leadership. He is vocal, composed under pressure, and leads by example on and off the field, making him an invaluable part of our program. Way to go, Connor!

Sadie Gaul '32 - Lacrosse - Sadie quickly proved she belonged as the only 6th grader on the varsity team, showcasing relentless tenacity and a drive to chase down every loose ground ball. Her endurance sets her apart, and her vision with the ball consistently creates scoring opportunities for the offense. With her work ethic and playmaking ability, she’s poised to be a key part of the midfield unit for years to come. Awesome job, Sadie!
