Athletes of the Week Ending 1/31

The following students have been named Athletes of the Week ending Jan 31:

Jimmy Snyder '30 - Ice Hockey - Jimmy, an 8th-grade defenseman, has been a tremendous addition to the team this season. His hockey sense, composure, and maturity stand out every time he steps on the ice, and he has quickly established himself as one of the top young players to watch in the IHL. Jimmy consistently logs heavy minutes on the back end and has played a key role in stabilizing our defensive unit. Despite being one of the youngest players in the program, he has earned a top-four defenseman role and is trusted in all situations, including both the power play and penalty kill. He plays with confidence, makes smart first passes, and competes hard in all three zones. We are extremely excited to watch Jimmy’s game continue to develop over the next four years as an important part of the SCH Hockey program.

Gemma Cooper '29 - Squash - Gemma has shown continued improvements throughout the season. She has solidified herself as the team's number 5 and has put together some great squash against tricky opponents. We look forward to Gemma’s future progress as a player and leader in the varsity program!

Reece Corvasce '26 - Squash - Reece has shown a tremendous amount of effort on the JV squad this season, and she always comes to practice and matches with a positive attitude. She is an excellent role model for her teammates, and we will miss her leadership next year! We wish you all the best in the future, Reece!

Donovan Ajunwa '28 - Basketball - Donovan’s experience at the varsity level makes him a prime leader for the JV squad. Game in and game out, he leads the team on both ends of the floor and is greatly responsible for the team's 15-4 record. On Tuesday, his defense led the way with consecutive steals early in the second half to salt away a 20 point SCH win against PC. Keep working, Donovan!

Sean Tiffany '29 - Squash - Sean put in an amazing effort against a strong team in his squash debut for the Blue Devils. He is growing in skill and confidence every week, and he has been an amazing addition to the team. We look forward to Sean’s growth and future with the program!

Maeve McManus '31 - Squash - Maeve delivered a standout performance at MS Nationals, playing all three of her matches with confidence, intensity, and focus. After a tough second game in her opening match, she locked in and came back even stronger, setting the tone for the rest of the day. She carried that momentum into matches two and three, earning decisive 3–0 wins while staying composed and competitive throughout. It was a resilient, high-level performance that was huge for our team!

Frank Bradfield '31 - Wrestling - Frank had a very successful meet at EA last week, wrestling with great composure as he pulled off a come-from-behind match against his opponent. He has improved every meet this year and is always working to get better. Keep it up, Frank!

Campbell Goodwin '30 - Squash - Campbell delivered massive wins for us at MS Nationals, capping his run with two intense five-game thrillers that could have gone either way. In physically demanding matches, he battled through frustration, locked in his focus, and rose to the moment, grinding it out and finishing strong when it mattered most. It was a clutch performance for the varsity team!

Oliver Rabe '30 - Basketball - Oliver had an outstanding week of basketball for the MSB varsity team in the big 56-20 win against Penn Charter. He competes at a very high level during every game, and his effort and hard work in practice do not go unnoticed. Way to go, Oliver!

Braidyn Watson '32 - Basketball - Braidyn consistently has outstanding defensive play, which turns into many transitional points. He has exceeded the coach's expectations and has worked his way into a starting position on the JV A team. Excellent effort, Braidyn!
